Animal Wellness Center of Athens (AWC Athens) is a veterinary, small animal practice conveniently located just off Atlanta Highway in Athens, Georgia. The co-founders of the practice are veterinarians Dr. Angela Dodd and Dr. Lisa Stacy who have spent decades in Athens dedicating their lives to helping animals live the long, happy and healthy lives that they deserve. In 2022, they welcomed Dr. Jessica Wylie, and in 2025, they welcomed Dr. Katie Samples to the practice. All four veterinarians are graduates of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Angela Dodd, Dr. Lisa Stacy, Dr. Jessica Wylie, and Dr. Katie Samples have over 50 years of veterinary experience combined. Along with their experienced and friendly staff, AWC Athens offers a full range of pet care including medical, dental, surgical, orthopedic and wellness services plus boarding and grooming.

Our veterinarians, Dr.s Dodd, Stacy, Wylie, and Samples are proud Georgia Bulldogs! All four are graduates of the prestigious University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, and as such, they stay in close communication with the University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital— with its vast and highly specialized knowledge base. The University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine is in the top ten veterinary programs in the U.S.
