Welcome to AWC Athens

Animal Wellness Center of Athens (AWC Athens) is a veterinary, small animal practice conveniently located just off Atlanta Highway in Athens, Georgia. The doctors have spent nearly two decades in Athens dedicating their lives to helping animals live the long, happy and healthy lives that they deserve. Drs. Dodd and Stacy welcomed veterinarian Dr. Jessica Wylie in 2022 to help meet the needs of their growing practice.

The doctors at AWC Athens are fully committed to enhancing their patients’ lives through excellence in preventive medicine, diagnostics, laser surgery, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, advanced dentistry, internal medicine, emergency treatment, digital radiography, and senior pet care.

AWC of Athens also offers animal behavioral counseling and an extensive supply of traditional medications, supplements, and products to enhance the care and well being of companion animals. In addition to exemplary medical and behavioral services, AWC provides boarding in warm, comfortable kennels, with indoor and outdoor runs for dogs, and spacious condos for boarding cats and certain exotic species. WELLNESS TIPS FROM AWC ATHENS

Make Yearly Vet Visits a Routine

Almost twice as many cats as dogs never visit a veterinarian. Preventive care examinations for all cats should occur a minimum of once a year, and even more frequently for senior cats or those with chronic conditions. During the physical exam, a veterinarian will assess your cat’s current health, and can detect conditions affecting your cat’s health before they become painful or more costly. Cats need routine check-ups to promote longer, healthier lives.

“Dr. Angela Dodd has been my vet for many years. I'm a self-professed crazy dog lady with four dogs, and only Dr. Angela takes care of my puppies. She's incredibly compassionate, caring, and knowledgeable. She's constantly updating her skill set with acupuncture and other enhancements. She reaches out to experts in specialized areas as needed. She's even delivered medications to my house when I've been home-bound. She is simply wonderful!”
